The prosecutor’s office demands to recover 3.7 million hryvnias from the state revenue, with which the head of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kharkiv region bought an apartment and registered it for his mother-in-law

The prosecutor’s office demands that 3.7 million hryvnias be transferred to the state’s revenue related to the purchase of an apartment by the head of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kharkiv region, which he registered for his mother-in-law. This is reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to recognize the assets of the head of one of the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kharkiv region as unfounded. The appeal to the court is based on the materials of the NACP and evidence collected by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The agency began monitoring the official’s lifestyle after considering a report on corruption received from the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation in Poltava.

The NACP established that the head of the service center received assets, the value of which significantly exceeds his confirmed legal income. In particular, it concerns an apartment in Kharkiv worth over 3.9 million hryvnias, which was registered in the name of the official’s mother-in-law. The difference between the price of this asset and the legal income of the declaring entity exceeds 3.7 million hryvnias.

Because of this, the SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine to declare the asset unfounded and recover it as state revenue.
