The Register of Lawyers of Ukraine has undergone changes: over 400 specialists have left the profession
As of the end of October 2025, there were 52,960 lawyers in Ukraine, which is 401 fewer professionals than in the summer of this year, when there were 53,361. At the same time, compared to the previous period, the total number of professionals increased by 8%.
Among registered lawyers, men make up 59% of the total number. The largest number of representatives of this profession is concentrated in the Kyiv region — 9,258 people, which corresponds to 18% of all lawyers in the country. There are 5,550 lawyers in the capital, or 11% of the total. Significant groups of specialists also work in the Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions — 4,016 and 4,015 people, respectively.
Ukrainian lawyers continue to fulfill their professional duties even in the difficult conditions of a full-scale war. They provide legal support to citizens, protect military personnel, displaced persons, and other people affected by Russian aggression.
On December 19, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Bar, a professional holiday dedicated to specialists who provide legal assistance, represent the interests of citizens in courts, and promote the rule of law in society, even in the difficult and dangerous conditions of modern warfare.
