The rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada was blocked: deputies demand consideration of the issue of fortifications and the ban of the UOC (video)
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk was forced to suspend the session of the parliament. The break was announced due to the blocking of the tribune by representatives of the “European Solidarity” faction.
People’s elected representatives demand to add to the list of draft laws that will be considered today, the creation of a Temporary Investigative Commission to control the construction of fortifications. We will remind that the topic of construction of fortifications and its corruption component became quite resonant after the intensification of the offensive of the Russian army in the Kharkiv region.
In addition, deputies from the EU faction emphasize the need to include a draft law banning the UOC (MP) on the agenda of today’s meeting.
Representatives of “European Solidarity” decided to block the tribune after there were not enough votes of the people’s elected officials to summon Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov to the Verkhovna Rada meeting. The EU deputies wanted to hear the government’s explanation regarding the situation with the construction of fortifications.
