The Russian army carried out an airstrike on Sumy, children were among the wounded

The Russian army attacked Sumy with an airstrike on the night of February 21, as a result of which three people were injured, including two children.

At around 4 a.m., Russian occupation forces struck one of the private sectors of the city. As the Sumy regional police reported on social media, the explosion caused extensive damage to residential buildings.

According to preliminary data, two residential buildings were completely destroyed, and at least ten more households suffered varying degrees of damage. A civilian car also burned down and a gas pipe was damaged. The extent of the final damage is being clarified.

Three residents were injured as a result of the attack: children aged 5 and 17 and a 70-year-old woman who was hospitalized.

“Police investigative and operational teams, explosives technicians and other specialized services are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences, recording the damage and collecting evidence for further investigation,” the Sumy regional police reported.
