The Russian army is massively attacking Ukraine with missiles and drones

On the morning of December 23, the Russian Federation carried out another large-scale combined attack on the territory of Ukraine, using cruise missiles and Shahed-type strike drones. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and data from the Air Alert Map.

An air alert in certain regions was declared on Monday evening. Russian troops launched several groups of strike drones, which moved in southern and western directions at night. In this regard, the air alert signal spread to almost the entire territory of the country.

At about 06:00, the first enemy missiles were detected in Ukrainian airspace. According to the Air Force, the missiles were moving from the territory of Sumy and Chernihiv regions towards the central and western regions. Cruise missile launches from the Black Sea and the use of Russian strategic aviation were also reported.

As of 07:30, explosions could be heard in Kyiv and Odessa. Local authorities also reported a drone attack in the Carpathian region, in particular, explosions were recorded in the Burshtyn district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. Strike drones were also recorded in the airspace of Lviv region.

In addition, the border area of ​​Sumy region was subjected to a massive drone attack at night. There, hits were confirmed in several areas, which led to power outages.

As of this morning, emergency power outages began to be introduced in a number of regions. In particular, this was reported in Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in Kyiv. The restrictions are likely related to strikes on energy infrastructure facilities, which Russia traditionally tries to disable during massive attacks.
