The Russian military tried to enter the village of Yampil in Donetsk region, disguising themselves as civilians
Russian soldiers, disguised in civilian clothes and pretending to be civilians, tried to enter the village of Yampil in Donetsk region. The Defense Forces conducted an operation during which the saboteurs were identified and eliminated. Yampil and the surrounding areas remain under the full control of the Ukrainian military, announced the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“The Russian occupiers once again resorted to a gross violation of the norms of international humanitarian law. The enemy in civilian clothes, masquerading as civilians, tried to infiltrate the settlement of Yampil and carry out sabotage work behind the Defense Forces. Separate groups of the enemy hid in private houses, basements and other structures, using local residents as “human shields”, the report says.
Units of the 11th Army Corps carried out a complex of anti-terrorist operations, during which the enemy was detected, blocked and neutralized. Currently, the settlement of Yampil and the surrounding areas are under the full control of the Defense Forces. The enemy did not achieve any tactical results, and all his attempts to carry out reconnaissance and sabotage actions in this area were thwarted.
“It is worth noting that the enemy is trying to find ways of infiltration in small groups, using natural conditions and the presence of civilian buildings. Monitoring of the situation continues, and measures to counter such actions are being strengthened, the General Staff added.
