The Russian side agreed to accept security guarantees for Ukraine from the US: Kirill Budanov
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and member of the negotiating team, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the Russian side agreed to accept the security guarantees for Ukraine offered by the United States. He also reported on the progress in the work of the military subgroup at the negotiations.
“At the previous negotiations, the Russian side directly said that they would accept the security guarantees offered to Ukraine by the US…
Regarding the issue of control over the demilitarized zone, this is a matter for the military subgroup. That is where the maximum progress is. They have reached conclusions on how monitoring will work when the war ends.
Regarding the issue of territories, we are looking for a compromise between two absolutely polar positions. We have not yet found it completely. I hope we will find it. We do not have much time for this. In the end, we will have to state: either we have found a solution and are completing this war, or… continue to kill each other, which we do quite qualitatively and professionally,” – Budanov noted.
According to Budanov, the state of the Russian army currently does not allow it to attack Kyiv. He also added that Ukraine should prepare for possible new terrorist attacks, similar to the recent one in Lviv.
