The SBI is investigating more than 400 cases of abuse by TCC and SP officials during mobilization

In connection with the declaration of martial law and general mobilization, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) intensified the fight against offenses related to the work of territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCC and SP). The transparent and efficient operation of these centers is of crucial importance for ensuring the country’s defense capability in wartime conditions. However, some officials use their official position for their own benefit, which not only undermines the trust of citizens, but also endangers the security of the country. About this informs DBR press office.

Since February 24, 2022, the SBI has investigated 408 criminal proceedings related to the activities of TCCs and joint ventures. As a result of these investigations, 73 persons were notified of suspicion, 37 cases involving 61 persons were brought to court, and 10 persons have already received guilty verdicts.

According to the court, the illegally obtained profit during the frauds at the TCC amounted to 114 million hryvnias. The total amount of damages amounted to 19 million hryvnias, of which 6.5 million hryvnias were compensated thanks to the actions of the SBI. The property of the participants in the cases was seized in the amount of 264 million hryvnias.

The SBI continues to actively investigate cases of abuse in TCCs. Recent examples include:

  • An official of the local TCC will be tried in Odesa, who was found to be making illegal earnings from fraudsters.
  • In the Rivne region, one of the organizers of the mobilization evasion scheme will appear before the court.
  • The former head of the Rivne TCC was placed in custody by the court.
