The SBU and the National Police have suspended new schemes for tax evaders in various regions of Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, exposed and stopped the operation of new schemes for evading mobilization. As a result of comprehensive measures in several regions, eight organizers of illegal transactions were detained, who offered conscripts fictitious medical documents or illegal travel abroad for bribes of 10 to 15 thousand dollars.
A 62-year-old carrier from Lviv was detained in Transcarpathia, who delivered clients to the border region and organized their escape to the European Union through a non-working gas pipe. He was helped by an accomplice from Pokrovsk, who was abroad, looked for “clients” on social networks and coordinated them after crossing the border.
Four people were exposed in Odessa, who established an underground route for transporting conscripts to the unrecognized Transnistria. The group included a deserter who, posing as an active military serviceman, transported draft evaders in the trunk of a car.
In the Poltava region, law enforcement officers exposed a 48-year-old former law enforcement officer who was selling fake disability certificates using connections among doctors. Conscripts were formally registered for inpatient treatment, after which they were issued fake discharge certificates with fabricated serious diagnoses.
Two unemployed men aged 51 and 59 were detained in Dnipro, who were smuggling men of draft age to the EU via forest routes, disguising them with camouflage clothing.
All those involved were notified of suspicion under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular for illegal smuggling of persons across the state border, aiding and abetting the receipt of unlawful benefits, and organizing the forgery of documents. The perpetrators face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
