The SBU exposed a network of FSB agents who were preparing the assassination of the President of Ukraine  

Counterintelligence and investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine foiled the plans of the FSB of the Russian Federation to eliminate the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and other representatives of the state’s top military and political leadership.

“Counter-intelligence and SBU investigators thwarted the FSB’s plans to eliminate the President of Ukraine and other representatives of the country’s top military-political leadership.”, says the message.

In the course of the special operation, an agent network was exposed, which included two colonels of the State Security Department (SDS). For a long time, the suspects “leaked” secret information to the Russians, including the movement and security plans of the first persons of Ukraine.

According to the SBU, the FSB planned:

• Eliminate President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. For this, the agents were looking for executors among the military, close to the protection of the Head of State. Their task was to take the President hostage and then kill him.
• Remove the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, and other high-ranking officials. In particular, the attempt on Budanov was planned to be carried out before Easter.
• Launch a rocket attack on the house where the official is staying. After that, the affected area was to be attacked with a drone, and then with another missile to destroy the traces of the use of the drone.

 Two UDO colonels who cooperated with the FSB have been detained. They are charged with treason and espionage.
