In Kyiv, on May 10, officers of the SBU detained criminal authority Serhiy Oliynyk, known in the criminal environment as Umka. After stopping his armored car, special signals installed without legal grounds were dismantled from the vehicle. This was reported to journalists by a source in the law enforcement agencies, information transmits hromadske There is no official SBU comment on this yet.

As the interlocutor of the publication noted, the Ukrainian security forces “clearly made it clear” to Oliynyk himself, as well as to his personal bodyguards, that they will not be allowed to stay in Ukraine freely and without control. The special signals with which the car was equipped were mounted at the manufacturing plant, but the owner did not have permits for their use in Ukraine. That is why the relevant equipment was dismantled immediately after stopping the machine.

At the same time, the Security Service of Ukraine did not directly comment on the fact of Oliynyk’s detention. In response to journalists’ inquiries, the SBU stated that they are constantly conducting counter-intelligence operations aimed at countering organized crime. The special service stressed that any manifestations of activity that pose a threat to the national security of the state will receive a harsh response.

ZN.UA also reports that Oliynyk was detained on the morning of May 10 and taken to the detention center located on Askoldova Lane in the center of Kyiv.

The detention was preceded by a high-profile story recently published by “Ukrainian Pravda”. According to the investigation, a number of high-ranking SBU officers were spotted at the birthday party of Kostyantyn Kolomiyets, who is reported to be guarding the owner of the sanctioned company Parimatch.

Among those present at the party was Anatoliy Loif, head of the Main Department of Counterintelligence for Critical Infrastructure and Combating Terrorist Financing, who was dismissed from his post after the publicity. There were also Artem Shilo, a former adviser to the President’s Office, who was suspected last year in the case of fraud with the purchase of transformers for Ukrzaliznytsia, and Ilya Vityuk, a former head of the cyber security department of the SBU, who resigned after a journalistic investigation into elite real estate in Kyiv. At the same event, Serhii Oliynyk was also noticed – as early as 2021, he was officially included in the list of persons recognized as “thieves in law”.

We will remind you that in August 2022, the National Police detained Umka in the territory of Zakarpattia Oblast, but he was released after drawing up an administrative protocol.
