The son of the suspect in the murder of Parubiy served in the 93rd OMBr and died near Bakhmut
The son of Andriy Parubiy, the suspect in the murder of the former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, fought as part of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade “Kholodny Yar” and died at the front in May 2023. He is officially considered missing. This was reported by the press officer of the brigade Iryna Rybakova.
She confirmed that Mykhailo-Viktor Scelnikov with the call sign Lemberg served in the reconnaissance of the 3rd mechanized battalion and died during the fighting in Bakhmut in Donetsk region.
The head of the patronage service of the 93rd Brigade, Alina Karnaukhova, noted that Scelnikov is officially considered missing since May 20, 2023, because the soldier’s body has not been found.
His mother, Lviv journalist and photo artist Olena Cherninka, dedicated the book “Lemberg: Mom, Don’t Cry” to her son, in which she collected her own stories and appeals to him. She emphasized that “Lemberg” joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and fought for a year and a half.
“We have not been in contact with the defendant for 27 years. The news from the trial in the case of the murder of Andrii Parubiy shocked our family. It is important that the memory of Mykhailo in this situation is not distorted, – explained Olena Cherninka, adding that communication stopped practically after the birth of the child.
Recall that during the court session, the suspect in the murder of Andrii Parubiy Mykhailo Scelnikov stated that his actions were “personal revenge against the Ukrainian authorities”. He also said that he wants to be exchanged and wants to go to Russia to “look for his son’s body”. — a Ukrainian military man who went missing in the Bakhmut direction.
