The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine denied the statement of the Russian Federation about the capture of Basivka in the Sumy region

Spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko refuted the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation about alleged control over the village of Basivka in the Sumy region. According to him, small Russian assault groups enter the settlement from time to time, but are destroyed by units of the Defense Forces.

“The enemy also does not stop the tactics of using small assault groups, so that these applied forces cross our border, accumulate and expand the combat zone on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, this is recorded in the direction of the Novenke-Basivka area. At the same time, these small assault groups are destroyed as much as possible by units of the Defense Forces.” Demchenko said.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the alleged occupation of the village:

“Subunits of the group of troops “North” liberated the settlement of Basivka, Sumy region, during the offensive.

There are no civilians left in the villages of Basivka and Yunakivka in Sumy Oblast. As reported by the head of the community Olena Sima, there are currently about 200 people in the territory of the Yunakiv community. According to the Deep State platform, Basivka is in the so-called “gray zone”.

We will remind that on March 12, Andriy Demchenko announced the attempts of the Russian military to break through the state border in the Sumy region and dislodge the Defense Forces of Ukraine from the Kursk region.
