The State Border Service of Ukraine did not allow an Italian citizen who justified Russian aggression into Ukraine
Italian citizen Rocco, who publicly expressed pro-Russian views, was banned from entering the territory of Ukraine for three years. The decision was made after public publicity and additional verification.
This was reported by Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. According to him, the 53-year-old Italian tried to enter Ukraine by bus through the “Chop” checkpoint, but border guards refused him permission to cross the border and issued a three-year entry ban.
The State Border Service of Ukraine noted that during the inspection, the foreigner’s pro-Russian position and the facts of his justification of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine were established.
“In fact, he has pro-Russian views and justifies the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine. Due to the violation of Ukrainian legislation, the man received appropriate decisions at the border, Demchenko noted.
Information about the incident became public after a post by Threads user Darya Melnichenko. She told about the incident that happened on a bus on the way to Ukraine. According to her, during a stop, an Italian man named Rocco, dressed in an embroidered shirt, approached her and said that he was heading to his Ukrainian wife. At the same time, the man later began to criticize Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky and express sympathy for Russian dictator Putin.
After that, social media users found Rocco’s TikTok page and left comments under his video. In one of the last posts, the Italian noted that he was planning a trip to Russia via Ukraine.
