The Pentagon announced that the United States, in cooperation with Ukraine and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, took measures to prevent unauthorized use of Starlink Internet terminals by the Russian military during the war in Ukraine.

“So far we have successfully countered Russian use, but I am sure that Russia will continue to try to find ways to use Starlink and other commercial communications systems“, said the head of the space policy department of the US Department of Defense, John Plum.
The Pentagon official declined to specify what tactics, methods or procedures are being used to end Russia’s use of Starlink terminals. However, he assured that it is about “good solutions” that were found together with Starlink and Ukraine.
Back in February, the Ukrainian military drew attention to the fact that the Russians began using the Starlink terminals of Elon Musk’s SpaceX company at their positions. Later, this information was confirmed by Ukrainian military intelligence, which stated that the Russian Federation was purchasing terminals in Arab countries. In this regard, Democrats in the US House of Representatives have launched an investigation into SpaceX.
