The Verkhovna Rada Committee approved amendments to the State Budget for 2025

The Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee supported amendments to the State Budget for 2025, which provide for an increase in funding for the national security and defense sector by UAH 325 billion. Bill No. 14103 is planned to be considered in parliament on October 21. This was reported by Roksolana Pidlas, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee.

“I urge all people’s deputies to support this bill in the voting hall today as a basis and in general, since on November 1-2, funds for cash payments should be transferred to the troops. There were no delays during the entire full-scale invasion, Roksolana Pidlasa emphasized.

According to the project, out of the total amount of UAH 324.7 billion, the largest funds will go to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (+ UAH 210.9 billion) and to the production and purchase of weapons and ammunition (+ UAH 99.1 billion).

Other expenses will be distributed as follows: National Guard — UAH 8.1 billion, State Special Communications Service for the purchase of drones — UAH 4.3 billion, SBU — UAH 1.3 billion, State Special Service for Transport — UAH 918 million, Border Guard Service — UAH 83 million, State Security Service — UAH 28.8 million, Foreign Intelligence Service — UAH 8 million.

Additional expenses will be covered from three sources: UAH 294.3 billion will come from international aid (non-repayable loans from the EU), UAH 10.4 billion — due to a reduction in non-military spending, another UAH 20 billion is expected from an increase in tax revenues from military salaries.

As a reminder, on September 15, the government approved the draft state budget for 2026 and submitted it to the Verkhovna Rada. Security and defense, as well as social stability, were identified as key priorities.
