The Verkhovna Rada expanded the right to one-time assistance for critical infrastructure workers
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law that provides for a one-time cash benefit for harm to the life and health of employees of critical infrastructure facilities. Corresponding amendments have been made to the law “On a one-time cash benefit for harm to the life and health of employees of critical infrastructure facilities.” This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The document is aimed at strengthening the social protection of persons who suffered as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as their family members. The law clarifies the list of duties, the performance of which gives the right to receive assistance, and expands the circle of persons who can claim payments.
In particular, this concerns employees of critical infrastructure operators, their branches and representative offices, as well as persons who suffered damage at such facilities while performing their official, professional or labor duties. Civil servants and representatives of local governments who suffered as a result of the actions of the Russian Federation will also receive the right to assistance.
In addition, the list of family members of deceased or deceased employees who can receive payments has been expanded. A mechanism for compensating for the difference in the event of a higher disability group being established is also provided.
The Parliament extended the period for exercising the right to receive a one-time benefit for the period of martial law and for three years after its termination or cancellation.
