The Verkhovna Rada supported the abolition of special pensions for prosecutors

The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 12278 in the first reading, which provides for the abolition of special pensions for prosecutors. About this reported Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.
According to Hetmantsev, during the plenary session on Tuesday, 239 people’s deputies supported the project.
“Accepted. So far in the first. But we will definitely press the castes as a whole”Hetmantsev noted.
Earlier, he explained that the draft law repeals provisions that allowed prosecutors to retire at the age of 35 with payments reaching hundreds of thousands of hryvnias. In his opinion, these payments are not the main source of income for representatives of this profession.
The document provides that:
- prosecutors will be able to receive a pension for years of service only after leaving the prosecutor’s office;
- the recalculation of pensions for law enforcement officers and employees of the prosecutor’s office must be carried out taking into account the growth of the population’s income and the consumer price index;
- amendments to the pension legislation are allowed only by a separate law on amendments to the law “On mandatory state pension insurance”.
“This is a draft law that directly torpedoes the personal clan interest of the clan corruption system that was formed and strengthened over 30 years in our state and feeds on our money and the future of our children.”Hetmantsev explained.
