There are 275 checkpoints in the structure of the National Police of Ukraine, but their number is constantly changing depending on the operational situation. About this under time The head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police, Vadym Dzyubynskyi, announced the second national conference on combating the illegal circulation of weapons, ammunition and explosives.
According to him, roadblocks are located throughout the territory of Ukraine, and mobile roadblocks operate in areas close to hostilities. Their flexibility allows them to quickly respond to potential threats and maintain security in wartime conditions.
“As for the work of the NPU at checkpoints throughout the country, 275 checkpoints are currently operating. But their number is constantly changing depending on the change in the operational situation.”, Dzyubynsky noted.
During the 11 months of 2024, 296 weapons, almost 150,000 cartridges, 1,000 grenades and 745 other ammunition were seized at the checkpoints. These indicators demonstrate the effectiveness of the work of law enforcement officers at checkpoints, the representative of the National Police emphasized.
Checkpoints remain a key security tool in the face of full-scale war. They allow you to check transport, detect illegal weapons and ammunition, as well as counter the movement of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
