They want to introduce police clearance certificates for employees of educational institutions

The introduction of mandatory criminal record certificates for all employees of educational institutions can significantly improve the safety of children. Yes believes educational ombudsman Nadiya Leshchyk.

As of today, this requirement applies only to security guards, however, according to Leschyk, this clause should apply to all employees of educational institutions.

“I proposed and continue to insist that the norm of the draft law dated September 2, 2024 No. 11543 should be applied not only to security guards, but to all employees of educational institutions without exception. During the preparation of the document for the second reading, I will put forward a corresponding proposal.” – said the official.

She also informed that it is possible to get a certificate of criminal record quickly and conveniently through the “Diya” application.

Earlier, the ombudsman proposed to keep students for the second year of study in cases of failure. According to her, such a decision should be made by the pedagogical council, and it will not require the consent of parents. The reasons for transferring to a repeated course may be the initial level of educational achievements, long absences from classes or absenteeism during one semester.
