Thousands of foreign companies are registered in Ukraine, even despite the war
The war is an extremely negative factor that reduces the country’s investment climate to almost nothing. In 2022, the volume of financial infusions of foreigners into Ukrainian business has significantly decreased. However, entrepreneurs from different countries continued to open new factories on the territory of Ukraine. According to the results of research by analysts The opendatabase, during 2022 – 2023, foreigners founded 2,652 companies here.
Representatives of more than 100 countries invested in business in Ukraine. Most often, during the last two years, companies were founded by Turkish entrepreneurs. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, representatives of this country have opened 354 companies. That is, 13.1% of the foreign business market in Ukraine, or every eighth company in this segment was founded by citizens of Turkey.
In second place in terms of business activity in Ukraine are citizens of Uzbekistan. In two years, they opened 274 companies in Ukraine. The third place is in Polyakiv. Citizens of the neighboring country founded 193 enterprises during the studied period.
Investors from the USA, Kazakhstan, Germany, Azerbaijan, Israel and Great Britain also consider Ukraine relatively attractive for doing business.
As for the sums of investments in new companies, Armenians hold the lead here. 1.23 billion hryvnias were invested in the company “TENS1MA”, founded by representatives of this country. The list of ten foreign companies with the largest amount of start-up capital looks like this:
