Trump announces massive trade deal with EU

US President Donald Trump announced on reaching a new large-scale trade agreement with the European Union. According to him, the EU agreed to purchase US energy carriers worth 750 billion dollars.

“So what we’re going to do is this. The European Union will agree to buy $750 billion worth of energy from the United States. They’ll agree to invest $600 billion more in the United States than they’re already investing. So they’re investing a large amount of money. You know what that amount is. It’s very significant.” Trump emphasized.

The European Union also agreed to open its markets to zero-tariff trade. The US president announced that the EU countries agreed on the purchase of a large amount of American military equipment.

“We don’t know what that number is, but it’s good news because we make the best military equipment in the world. So that 750 billion, 600 billion opens up the country. We agree that the direct tariff on cars and everything else will be a direct tariff of 15 percent.”, – explained the US president.

Trump noted that he does not plan to lower customs rates on goods from the European Union below 15%.

In conclusion, he stated that he considers this trade agreement to be the largest in US history:

“I think this is the biggest deal we’ve ever done. Thank you very much. Congratulations. Thank you.”

It will be recalled that at the beginning of July, Trump set the EU a deadline of August 1, 2025 for concluding an agreement. In its absence, he threatened to introduce a basic duty of 30% on European goods imported into the United States.
