Ukraine expects more than $39 billion in budget support this year

In 2025, Ukraine expects to receive more than $39 billion in budget support, and these resources have already been confirmed by international partners. About this reported Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the ministerial round table in support of Ukraine at the World Bank in Washington.

“During the round table of the ministerial level in support of Ukraine at the World Bank, he emphasized that regardless of the further development of events, the years 2026-2027 will be a time of great challenges for the macro-financial stability of Ukraine”Shmyhal noted.

He emphasized that the best solution to ensure recovery would be the complete confiscation of Russian immobilized assets in the West and their allocation to the needs of Ukraine.

“According to the latest assessment of the World Bank, the needs for reconstruction for the next 10 years amount to 524 billion dollars. These figures show that the volume of Russian immobilized assets (approximately 300 billion dollars) is much smaller than the volume of needs for the reconstruction of Ukraine. Therefore, it would be advisable to consider the possibility of additional taxation of Russian raw materials.”, – emphasized the Prime Minister.

Shmyhal thanked all partners for the consistent sanctions policy, emphasizing the need to deprive Russia of the opportunity to finance the war. The latest, sixteenth package of sanctions, in particular, strengthened measures against the shadow fleet of the Russian Federation, banned the export of a number of dual-purpose goods, and introduced sanctions against Russian ports and airports.
