Ukraine has started accepting applications for receiving state compensation for the cultivation of fish fry

On October 8, the State Agrarian Register started accepting applications for receiving state compensation for growing fish stock (fish fry). The program will last until November 1, 2025 inclusive.

It provides for a partial reimbursement of up to 30% of the costs of growing fish planting material for further sale, as well as a partial reimbursement of up to 30% of the cost of purchasing such material for stocking reservoirs for the purpose of producing marketable fish products (excluding VAT).

Legal entities, regardless of ownership and organizational legal form, as well as natural persons-entrepreneurs engaged in agricultural activities in the field of breeding, keeping and growing freshwater fish, if aquaculture is their main type of economic activity, can receive compensation.

At the same time, recipients must be registered and carry out activities exclusively on the territory of Ukraine, with the exception of temporarily occupied territories (AR Crimea and the city of Sevastopol) and regions included in the list of territories where hostilities are ongoing or have been ongoing and for which the dates of the end of the temporary occupation have not been determined.

“The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine continues systematic work on the development of domestic fish farming and aquaculture and their processing in order to provide Ukrainians with fish of domestic origin. For this purpose, we have introduced auctions on the platform Prozorro. Sales for the purchase of domestic fish for military personnel and a number of government institutions. Accordingly, we need to increase the volume of production, and the state helps entrepreneurs in this,” noted Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotskyi.
