In Ukraine, on October 21, commissions will begin their work that will carry out the selection of candidates for the positions of specialists in accompanying war veterans and demobilized persons. The main purpose of these commissions is to help future specialists to develop their potential and prepare them for the important role of supporting veterans in the transition period after returning from the front. About this informs Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
Alyona Skorzova, head of the Department of Transition from Military Service to Civilian Life of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, emphasized that the escort specialist will be a key figure in the process of integration of veterans and demobilized persons into civilian life. He will be the first person after the family with whom veterans can systematically cooperate, receive individual support, initial consultations and comprehensive support.
Commissions for the selection of candidates are formed on the basis of structural subdivisions of state and military administrations, which are responsible for the implementation of veteran policy. The selection process will be based on methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and a clear evaluation scale.
As of today, 1,104 candidates have submitted applications for participation in the competition for the positions of specialists in accompanying war veterans and demobilized persons, which emphasizes the significant interest in this program.
Permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk reported in his Telegram channel that the Cabinet of Ministers decided to distribute over 97.3 million hryvnias of subvention to local budgets. These funds are aimed at financing the activities of specialists in accompanying veterans, as well as measures to support defenders of Ukraine.
“In 2024, the allocation of subventions from the state budget to local budgets to ensure the activities of specialists in accompanying war veterans and demobilized persons and separate measures to support persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in the amount of 97 million 345,234 thousand UAH, was carried out”, — Melnychuk noted.
