Ukraine launches new tool for wind and solar energy development
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, together with Danish partners, has launched an online green zoning platform in test mode. It should help identify the most promising areas for the construction of renewable energy facilities.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine noted that the digital tool will take into account the solar and wind potential of the area, proximity to energy infrastructure and other important factors.
The platform should help the state, business and communities to more effectively plan the location of new generating capacities and promote the development of renewable energy in Ukraine.
The department emphasized that the tool was developed in accordance with the provisions of the Ukraine Facility program for 2024–2027 and the requirements of European Union regulations.
It is expected that the implementation of the platform will contribute to attracting investments in the industry, the development of solar and wind generation, as well as strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence.
