Ukraine launches service to identify missing people based on tattoo descriptions

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has launched a new online section on the portal “Single Window for Citizens”, called “Identification by Tattoo”. It was created to help identify people who have gone missing. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

To use the service, you need to log in to your personal account on the portal “Single Window for Citizens”, then go to the list of services, select the category “Search” and open the section “Identification by Tattoo”.

The catalog has a filter system that allows you to sort tattoos by various parameters – category (e.g. texts, portraits or military symbols), type or subcategory, location on the body, and search by description.

If a person notices a tattoo that may be similar to that of a loved one who has gone missing, they should report it to the Commissioner for Missing Persons hotline under special circumstances. You can contact 1698 or write to the e-mail: [email protected].

The application must include the applicant’s last name, first name and patronymic, contact phone number, information about the missing person (full name, date of birth and degree of family relationship), tattoo sketch number, as well as any other details that may help in identifying the person. If possible, it is recommended to add photos of the missing person’s tattoos.
