Ukraine, Romania and Moldova to create regional cyber alliance
The National Coordination Center for Cyber Security (NCCC) under the NSDC is initiating the creation of a regional cyber alliance with the participation of Ukraine, Romania and Moldova. About this reported in the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
Secretary of the NCCC Nataliya Tkachuk emphasized that the formation of the alliance will be an important step in the implementation of the agreements of the presidents of the three countries reached during the fourth Ukraine-Southeastern Europe summit.
“Russia, as a terrorist country, uses cyberspace to implement threats to the security and stability of the democratic world. The Alliance will become a platform that will strengthen the collective cyber security of the participating countries and develop effective mechanisms to counter these threats.” Natalia Tkachuk explained.
The Chernivtsi regional military administration initiated the creation of an organizational base for the development of the alliance through the establishment of a regional cyber security center. The first consultations regarding the formation of this association took place at the end of July in Chernivtsi.
The key goal of the alliance is to ensure practical cooperation in the field of combating cyber and hybrid threats, primarily from the Russian Federation. In addition, the alliance will contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine, Romania and Moldova in the exchange of information about cyber threats, joint development of solutions using artificial intelligence, training of personnel, organization of cyber defense measures, increasing the stability of critical infrastructure and protection of democratic institutions.
The NSDC emphasized that the guiding principles of the alliance are a joint response to cyber attacks that threaten the national security of the participating countries, as well as openness to joining new partners — states that share common democratic values and strategic orientations.
