Ukraine became the first state in the world to officially introduce artificial intelligence for the provision of public services. On the portal “ Action” Diya.AI, an AI assistant that helps citizens receive services in a chat format, became operational. This was reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Ukraine is betting on artificial intelligence. And this is not a trend, but our clear mission — by 2030, to enter the top 3 countries in the world for the development and integration of AI in the public sector. Today, Diya.AI was launched on the Diya portal. This is the world’s first state AI agent that does not just answer questions, but provides services simply in chat, the minister noted.
Currently, users can order a certificate of income in a few clicks, and in the near future the assistant will provide five more additional services. In addition, Diya.AI advises on already available services (“How to open a FOP?”, “What is a Baby Package?”) and offers solutions depending on the life situation, in particular, it advises the Recovery program for those whose homes have been damaged.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he got acquainted with the new tool during a meeting with the “Action” team:
“A presentation of AI assistant Diya.AI was held on the portal “Diya”. It is one of the first AI assistants in the world that can quickly find the right service, check information from registers or order an income certificate.
In addition to the launch of Diya.AI, the team also presented a number of new solutions: an electronic court, testing 5G coverage, expanding the spectrum of social and veteran services, supporting Ukrainian manufacturers in the field of defense tech, as well as increasing the number of schools starting the academic year with the “Mriya” module.
