Ukrainian defense industry enterprises will receive one billion hryvnias for partial compensation of interest on loans

The state is allocating one billion hryvnias for partial compensation of interest rates on loans and leasing for enterprises of the defense-industrial complex. This was announced by Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.

“We are strengthening systemic and long-term support for Ukrainian arms manufacturers. The state is allocating UAH 1 billion to partial compensation of interest on loans and leasing for defense industry enterprises, Shmyhal said.

The minister added that this decision allows enterprises to scale production, invest in modern equipment, and accelerate the transition from development to serial production of weapons.

The preferential lending program provides for up to UAH 100 million for working capital for a period of up to three years and up to UAH 500 million for investment projects for a period of up to five years. At the same time, the actual annual rate for enterprises is 5%, and the rest of the amount is compensated by the state.

“We have also introduced a preferential financial leasing program for defense industry enterprises on the same terms of 5% per annum. This is an opportunity to renew production without excessive financial burden”, – emphasized Shmyhal.

According to the minister, the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex have shown unprecedented growth in recent years – from one billion dollars to 35 billion.

In 2025, the enterprises of JSC “Ukrainian Defense Industry” increased the production of weapons and military equipment by one and a half times compared to the previous year. In the fourth quarter of 2025, manufacturers received 30 licenses to use technologies developed within the Ministry of Defense.

During the year of the preferential lending program, Ukrainian defense industry enterprises received 80 loans totaling almost five billion hryvnias.
