Ukrainians have reduced the amount of donations for the needs of the army: Bloomberg
In the third year of the full-scale war, many charitable organizations of Ukraine, which are engaged in collecting funds for the military, faced a significant reduction in the volume of donations. About this informs Bloomberg.
In particular, the “Charity Fund of Serhiy Prytula” noted a decrease in income by about a fifth. This year, the fund collected 1.4 billion hryvnias, but in order to reach the level of previous years, they have to work three times more actively.
The “Army SOS” organization, which manufactures drones and provides artillerymen with the necessary equipment, recorded a tenfold decrease in donations.
The Charitable Foundation “Return Alive” announces a 15% reduction in contributions.
According to a survey conducted in August, 47% of Ukrainians who donate from 2022 continue to support the military to the same extent as before, while 34% have reduced their contributions in the past year.
61% of respondents cited a drop in income and savings as the main reason for the decrease in donations. Also among the reasons are scandals with corruption in state bodies, which reduced the motivation for financial support, and cases of fraud under the guise of fundraising.
