Ukrainians warned about scammers offering to issue a payment of 6,500 hryvnias
A new wave of fraudulent schemes has been recorded in Ukraine, in which criminals are allegedly offering citizens to issue a payment of 6,500 hryvnias. This was reported by Danylo Getmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
“I see an increase in the number of bot farms of scammers who offer to “issue a card to receive a payment of 6,500 hryvnias”, he said.
Getmantsev reminded that one should not follow dubious links and disclose their bank card details. No government agency sends links through third-party services.
“To receive state assistance, you do not need to issue “special” cards, because most payments are made through Diya”, he added.
The official urged citizens to ignore such “offers” and not to transfer their personal data to unknown persons.
As a reminder, on November 5, the government approved a program of one-time payments in the amount of 6,500 hryvnias for the most vulnerable categories of the population within the “Winter Support” package. Assistance will be provided to those who need state support the most: orphans, children under guardianship, children with disabilities in foster families, internally displaced children, IDPs with disabilities, and single pensioners.
Payments will be accrued automatically through the Pension Fund. The program is scheduled to launch in early December. The funds can be used to purchase medicines, clothing, and shoes. In total, the program is expected to reach over 660,000 people.
