“Ukrposhta” entered the top three postal operators in the world with the highest development rates

National postal operator “Ukrposhta” entered the top three postal companies in the world that demonstrated the fastest development according to the results of the assessment of the Universal Postal Union. This was reported by the general director of “Ukrposhta” Ihor Smilyanskyi.

At the congress in Dubai, the company received the Rising Star Award (“Rising Star”), which is awarded for progress in the international Postal Development Index (2IPD). The index takes into account four categories: reliability, geography of delivery, compliance with the business model and its sustainability.

“ Ukrposhta” increased the reliability index from 82.6 to 91 points thanks to the automation of sorting and the level of on-time delivery of more than 90%. The geography of delivery increased from 31.6 to 87.9 points, which means coverage of the entire territory of Ukraine, including the frontline regions.

In the category “fitness of the business model” the result increased from 9.9 to 21.9 points, in particular thanks to the delivery of pensions and service to rural areas. At the same time, this indicator remains lower than that of postal operators in many countries that have their own financial institutions.

The level of sustainability of the business model increased from 78.1 to 85.4 points. “ Ukrposhta” was able to provide work during the war thanks to mobile offices, satellite communication and an updated fleet. As a result, the company entered the top three postal services in the world with the most dynamic growth.

“As you can see, almost all points received by Ukraine and Ukrposhta are close to the maximum (the maximum is 100), except for compliance with the business model, which is only 21. And all because we have not yet launched a bank for financial inclusion – and that is why we lag behind the 87 post offices of the world that have already done so. These are not my words – these are the conclusions of Air Force specialists. At the Congress, India Post revealed that its bank already has 121 million customers. The Post of Italy owns up to 80% of all deposits in the country, emphasized Smilyansky.
