Umerov met with Witkoff and Kushner in Davos
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported on a series of negotiations of the Ukrainian delegation in Davos with American partners, investors and representatives of the governments of several countries. He wrote about this in Telegram.
According to Umerov, together with David Arakhamia and Oleksandr Kamyshin, he held meetings with representatives of BlackRock, and also spoke with the prime ministers of Norway and Qatar. Separate negotiations were held with American negotiators Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
“Together with David Arakhamia and Oleksandr Kamyshin, we held meetings with colleagues from BlackRock – one of the largest American investment companies in the world, which is involved in the reconstruction and economic recovery plans of Ukraine”, – the message says.
Umerov also reported that during contacts with US representatives, issues of economic development, post-war reconstruction and security guarantees were discussed.
“A separate meeting was held with American partners – Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. The main topics were economic development, post-war reconstruction and security guarantees. The partners were informed about the next Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure, in particular the situation in Kyiv, where millions of people were left without electricity and heat due to the strikes”, – Umerov noted.
Against the backdrop of these negotiations, US President Donald Trump, during his speech at the World Economic Forum, announced his intention to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Davos. Zelensky had previously stressed that such a meeting should have a concrete result, and also did not rule out the possibility of not going to Switzerland due to the crisis situation in Ukraine’s energy sector. Trump, for his part, noted that he was ready to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky in Davos if he was present at the forum.
