US Congress demands questioning of ex-Prince Andrew over Epstein ties

Democrats in the US Congress are demanding that the younger brother of Britain’s King Charles III, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, appear for questioning in connection with his possible ties to accused sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This is stated in an official letter to the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Robert Garcia, has asked former Prince Andrew to help with the investigation to identify individuals who may have been accomplices or accomplices of Epstein. The document was signed by 16 Democrats.

The letter states that the ex-prince may have information about Epstein’s activities, given their long-standing friendship and documented allegations against Andrew. To this end, Mountbatten-Windsor was invited to participate in an interview with the Committee.

The document also states that Andrew was a passenger on Epstein’s plane between 1999 and 2006 – this is when, according to the Committee, the financier carried out criminal activities. In addition, during the examination of financial records related to Epstein, a reference to the alleged “Massage for Andrew” was found.

The letter also mentions the posthumous memoirs of Virginia Giuffre, who accused Andrew of sexual acts without her consent. She wrote that she feared retaliation if she spoke out against him. According to the investigation, there was an agreement between Giuffre and the ex-prince on a one-year ban on disclosing information to preserve the reputation of the royal family. The committee expects a response from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor by November 20, 2025.

Virginia Giuffre claims that the prince raped her in London when she was 17 and also had sexual relations with her in New York. The lawsuit states that he acted with awareness of her age and the fact that Giuffre “was a victim of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation”.

Among those who, according to Giuffre, forced her to have sex were Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice, Gileane Maxwell. She points to two episodes – in New York and on Epstein’s private island in the Virgin Islands. Giuffre said that Epstein directly or indirectly threatened her, and she was forced to comply with his demands for fear of punishment or death.

After Andrew’s lawyers failed to get Giuffre’s civil lawsuit dismissed in a New York court, he was stripped of his royal patronages, military ranks and awards. The prince later asked for a jury trial, but in the end the parties reached an out-of-court settlement, and Andrew avoided a trial.

As a reminder, in October 2025, Andrew announced that he was giving up the title of Duke of York after prolonged criticism related to his behavior and ties to Epstein. At the initiative of King Charles III, the British government is working to strip former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of the rank of Vice Admiral, the last honorary military rank he had left.
