US Vice President Harris promises firm support for Ukraine and NATO allies
US Vice President Kamala Harris has assured that in the event of her victory in the presidential elections, she will continue to provide strong support to Ukraine and NATO. About this informs Associated Press.
In her speech, Harris emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine, while criticizing Republican candidate Donald Trump’s stance on the war in Ukraine.
“As president, I will firmly stand by Ukraine and our NATO allies”, – she assured.
Harris also recalled that five days before the start of a full-scale war, she warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about a possible Russian invasion. The vice president emphasized her role in consolidating international support, noting that she helped unite more than 50 countries in response to Russia’s aggression.
Kamala Harris made these statements against the background of the upcoming presidential elections in the USA, which will take place in the fall. Incumbent President Joe Biden, who has decided not to run for a second term, has nominated Harris as the Democratic candidate for White House leadership.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president. And while I intended to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and country that I should decline the nomination and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.”, says the text of the statement.
