Violations worth more than UAH 1 billion were detected in the activities of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences

The State Audit Service of Ukraine audited the use of budget funds by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS) and found violations in the amount of over 1 billion hryvnias. About this reported service to the Deržaudit service.
The audit covered the activities of the Academy itself, 21 subordinate institutions and 6 state enterprises. The most significant violations related to improper use of lands and resources of the National Academy of Sciences in activities not related to scientific goals. In particular, part of the land was transferred to third parties on the basis of contracts that had signs of a hidden lease. Because of this, the institutions and enterprises of the Academy did not receive more than 70 million hryvnias.
Low efficiency in the cultivation of agricultural products was also revealed, which had a yield lower than the average level in the regions. Products were often sold at discounted prices.
In addition, there were recorded cases of unjustified write-off of crops or total absence of harvesting in certain areas. This led to a loss of about 487 million hryvnias, of which 6.4 million were direct losses. The inspection materials were handed over to law enforcement agencies.
