Ireland handed over demining equipment to Ukraine
The Government of Ireland decided to hand over 34 cars and 3 demining machines to Ukraine, which will be used by the Defense Forces. About this going in an official statement from the Irish government.
Minister of Defense of Ireland Simon Harris reported that equipment for Ukraine has already been delivered to Poland.
“This important contribution is further evidence of Ireland’s unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s brutal invasion. It is extremely important that we continue to stand firm in the face of ongoing Russian aggression and support Ukraine in all possible ways, Simon Harris stressed.
Ireland handed over three Reacher demining works to the Mine Action Coalition for Ukraine, which works within the framework of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group (UDCG). The donation is made through the Information Center (CHC) of the EU Military Headquarters (EUMS). The transferred vehicles meet the needs of Ukraine, and the fact of their transfer will be confirmed in Poland by representatives of the Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall that Ireland participates in two UDCG coalitions that provide non-lethal military aid to Ukraine. It is a demining coalition led by Lithuania and Iceland, and an information technology coalition led by Estonia and Luxembourg.
