Vodafone, Kyivstar and Lifecell have started blocking spam calls
Vodafone, Kyivstar and Lifecell have started blocking spam calls, and Ukrainians now have the opportunity to report violators on their own. This is reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
New rules have entered into force in Ukraine, allowing mobile operators to block numbers from which spam calls are made. Already in the first days after the adoption of the government resolution, thousands of such numbers were blocked.
Spam calls are unsolicited commercial calls where companies call to promote their products or services. Now every Ukrainian can join the fight against this phenomenon by reporting spam directly to their operator.
Operators have already launched complaint services:
- Vodafone — through the My Vodafone application or by calling 111, 0 800 400 111 (in Ukraine) and +38 050 400 111 (in roaming);
- Kyivstar — through My Kyivstar or by calling 466, 0 800 300 466 (in Ukraine) and 105466# (in roaming);
- Lifecell — through My Lifecell or by calling 5433, 0 800 20 5433 (in Ukraine) and +38 063 5433 111 (in roaming).
Ukrainians can also leave a complaint on the government hotline 1545 or submit an appeal online on the NKEK website. The Ministry of Digital Transformation encourages users to proactively report spam to help operators block offenders faster and more effectively.
