On January 18, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in his address on the official website stated, that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has prepared a new package of sanctions that will be implemented in the near future. According to the head of state, the relevant decree will be signed the next day.
“Now we are also preparing a new decision regarding NSDC sanctions – tomorrow there will be a decree”, – Zelensky noted, without revealing details about the content of the sanctions package.
In addition, the president emphasized the successful work of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, which today made a significant contribution to ensuring the security and protection of the state. He noted the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Police and the Prosecutor’s Office, which actively oppose traitors and criminal schemes that harm the country.
“There is opposition to traitors and various schemes that weakened our state and society. Everyone who takes the path against Ukraine and the law must remember that there will be an answer.” – emphasized Zelensky.
According to the National Police, on January 18, law enforcement officers conducted 270 searches in 19 regions of Ukraine. As a result, a number of persons were notified of suspicion for organizing the illegal transportation of men across the state border.
In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine detained the director of the Information Systems Support Department of the state-owned Sense Bank, who is suspected of being involved in financing Russia’s war against Ukraine. An engineer of “Kyiv metro” and a former employee of “Ukrzaliznytsia” were also exposed, who, according to the investigation, spied on the location of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and corrected Russian airstrikes.
The President emphasized that the fight against traitors and all those who harm the Ukrainian people continues, and the state will continue to resolutely respond to the challenges facing it.
