Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the date of the beginning of the heating season in Ukraine

The official start of the heating season in Ukraine is scheduled for October 28, but in some communities, heating of social facilities has already begun. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a meeting with journalists.

The head of state noted that the situation with electricity supply in the country is generally stable:

“In principle, everything is being restored everywhere. In the Sumy region, in Shostka, the situation is the most difficult. Heating of social institutions in some communities has already begun, but officially heating should be on the 28th.

The President also commented on the state of the energy system and preparations for the winter period:

“We live in a realistic scenario and we only look at this. We need to look at everything realistically and restore. Of course, we can be very optimistic, but let’s be realistic. We will restore what they are destroying and protect what we have.”.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has resumed the supply of certain scarce missiles for air defense systems, which will increase the effectiveness of interceptions and reduce losses.

“This is a constant struggle – we defend ourselves, they destroy, we restore”, – the president added.

Zelensky also reported that the number of repair teams and rapid response headquarters is increasing in Ukraine. In addition, negotiations are ongoing with international partners on supporting the energy sector.

“Separately, I am negotiating with the Germans. The Chancellor and I discussed this. There are two companies in Germany and Italy that produce the necessary equipment for generating electricity. I showed him the necessary quantity”, – Zelensky explained.
