Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered the king a drone deal during his visit to Bahrain

The President of Ukraine met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain during his visit to Manama. This is Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s first visit to Bahrain, as well as the first meeting between the leaders of the two countries since 2003. This was reported by the Office of the President.

“Today, during our meeting, we discussed the security situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, as well as key challenges and security opportunities. We talked about attacks from Iran against Bahrain and other countries, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Almost every day, our country is also under the same terrorist attacks, and our people have the relevant experience of full-scale defense. Ukraine is ready to share such security expertise with Bahrain and help strengthen the protection of life. He proposed to conclude a Drone Deal and scale up cooperation with Bahrain,” Zelensky wrote in a telegram.

The President added that the teams of the two countries should work out the details.

The Office of the President reported that Zelensky also told the king about the situation in Ukraine, diplomatic efforts to achieve a decent peace, and contacts with the leaders of partner countries. He noted that Ukraine is ready for negotiations in a trilateral format.

“Special attention is paid to the development of bilateral economic relations and partnership in the field of agricultural production. They also discussed the opening of embassies in Ukraine and Bahrain and the possible introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries,” the press service noted.

Last month, Zelensky stated that the Drone Deal program, which Ukraine offers to countries in the Middle East and Europe, is primarily aimed at defense. According to him, the Drone Deal was initially developed and proposed by the United States.
