Why are more and more Ukrainians expressing distrust of the authorities?

Slightly more than half of Ukrainians (51%) consider corruption to be the biggest threat to the state’s development. For comparison, 46% of citizens consider war to be the greatest threat. Such data are the results of a survey of the Rating group. It is corruption that is the main reason for the decrease in the trust of Ukrainians in the government.

“In the third year of the war, we experienced a decrease in trust in state bodies. In the president, prime minister, and other ministers. This is probably related to the biggest problem, according to citizens, — corruption, about which we have seen a lot in the last year everything in the media. In addition, a Ukrainian has his own circle of communication and additionally draws conclusions from the experience, if not of his own, then of those close to him,” notes the head of the Sociological Group Rating. Oleksiy Antipovich.

Decreased trust in state leaders and officials is one of the reasons that Ukrainians are ready to make a smaller personal contribution to the fight against military aggression (volunteering, donations, military service) than before the war.

Another evidence of mistrust is the fact that 45% of young people would like parliamentary elections to be held this year.
