Woman sentenced to 15 years in Sumy for directing Russian strikes on city

A 59-year-old resident of Sumy was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property on the public indictment of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The prosecutor proved in court that the convict was carrying out the tasks of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. She came to the places of concentration of the military, observed the situation and transmitted the exact coordinates.

The woman also looked for pro-Russian individuals among her acquaintances who could collect military information for a monetary reward. According to the prosecutor’s office, the coordinates she provided were used to attack critical infrastructure facilities.

In addition, it was at the geolocation she provided that on September 7, 2023, targeted strikes were carried out on the location of one of the military formations in Sumy. On the same day, the woman was detained by law enforcement officers, and she was in custody awaiting a court verdict.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region.
