Zelenskyy said that documents on security guarantees with the US are fully prepared and awaiting signing

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the documents on the security guarantees of the United States of America for Ukraine are fully prepared and are awaiting signing. He stated this on January 25 during a conversation with the media.

According to the head of state, the Ukrainian side is waiting for the US to confirm its readiness to conclude an agreement, as well as to determine the date and place of signing the relevant documents. Zelensky stressed that the agreement on security guarantees must be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the US Congress.

The President also touched on the issue of European security guarantees, noting that they must contain a clearly fixed date for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and the results of the activities of the “Coalition of the Determined”.

“These are European security guarantees, this is a “coalition of the willing” and most importantly, membership in the European Union. These are economic security guarantees for Ukraine. We want the 27th year, we are talking about a specific date when Ukraine will be ready, Zelensky said.

Earlier, the Italian publication Corriere della Sera reported that Ukraine was allegedly offered to give up the part of Donbas under its control in exchange for $800 billion and security guarantees.

On January 10, US President Donald Trump said that the United States does not plan to be the main guarantor of Ukraine’s security in the event of a repeated invasion by the Russian Federation.

At the end of December last year, Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the US had offered Ukraine to conclude a security guarantee agreement for a period of 15 years.
