Zelenskyy said that Ukrainians do not want elections now

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated that the citizens of Ukraine do not want to hold elections because of the threat from the Russian Federation and the war, because unity within the country is needed.

“Ukrainians do not want elections completely, they do not want them because they are afraid. We will lose the legal regime of martial law if there are elections. The soldiers will return home and Putin will occupy our entire territory. Now we have mobilization, we are a single organism, we are a single country. And therefore it is very important that it continues like this.” – believes Zelensky.

He noted that the issue is not in him, but in the need to survive and save the country, independence and people.

“And if someone doesn’t like that, they can choose another citizenship. If they want to.”, – emphasized the president.

The head of state replied that he is now focusing on the survival of Ukraine:

“I’m doing everything I can. I’ve always done that. Starting with various dialogues. Half of my presidential term was covid, half was a war with Putin, against Putin.”
