Zelenskyy signed a law ratifying the subsoil agreement
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed the law ratifying the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States on the establishment of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (No. 4417-IX). About this informs press service of the Verkhovna Rada.
This document is designed to open up opportunities for large-scale investments in the Ukrainian economy, focusing, in particular, on critical infrastructure, industry and the reconstruction of devastated regions.
“Ratification of the Agreement will enable the full operation of the fund. It is not only about financial support, but also about the formation of new trust on the part of the strategic partner – the United States of America. This is another practical step towards the recovery, development and economic stability of Ukraine.” – it is stated in the official message.
We will remind that the Agreement on the creation of an investment fund for reconstruction was signed on April 30 in Washington. The signatories were the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko from the Ukrainian side and Finance Minister Scott Bessent – from the American side.
The fund is expected to provide financing for key projects in the field of mineral extraction, as well as to promote innovation, technological progress and reconstruction. On May 8, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the ratification of the so-called Minerals Agreement between Ukraine and the USA. 338 People’s Deputies voted for the relevant decision.
