500 buses for Ukrainian schools will be purchased through Prozorro

In 2024, Ukraine plans to purchase 500 school buses at state expense. 1 billion hryvnias have been allocated for this from the budget. Purchases will be made through Prozorro Market. Some territorial communities also plan to add funds for the purchase of transport for schoolchildren from their own budgets.

In 2023, 531 buses for the total amount of UAH 1.656 billion were purchased for educational institutions. Then 1 billion for the purchase of transport came from the state budget, and 656 million – from the budgets of communities.

“Last year, communities actively financed the purchase of buses, and we are grateful for that. Many of them added more than the minimum allowable amount of funds, and therefore, leaders and local deputies see the importance of providing students with quality education. International and Ukrainian studies show that schoolboys have educational losses, so state bodies and local authorities should work together to overcome them. The presence of buses is an opportunity to get to a support school, study face-to-face and get a better education,” says Andrii Stashkiv, Deputy Minister of Education.

Community representatives will be able to purchase buses through the Prozorro Market platform. This site works on the principle of an online store for purchases at the expense of the state. Currently, 20 verified transport providers, qualified by the administrator, are registered on the platform. Now, it is enough for the representatives of territorial communities to simply enter the system and announce the procurement procedure.

Most of the school buses will be purchased already in the summer – before the beginning of the new school year.
