A delegation of the opposition party of Slovakia arrived in Kyiv

A delegation of Slovakian opposition politicians, who seek to strengthen friendly relations with Ukraine, arrived in Kyiv amid tensions between official Kyiv and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. About this informs News.

The delegation included the leader of the social-liberal party “Progressive Slovakia” Michal Shimechka, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Korchok and three other members of the party.

“Our goal is clear – to reopen the door that Robert Fico closed with his aggressive explosions. Slovakia and Ukraine are close partners and know how to help each other a lot.”, – noted Shimechka.

We will remind that in an open letter, Robert Fico offered Volodymyr Zelensky to hold joint negotiations on the territory of Slovakia near the state border with Ukraine. The topic was supposed to be the situation surrounding gas transit through Ukraine and mutual Slovak-Ukrainian relations.

Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to negotiations and invited Prime Minister Fico to Kyiv on Friday. However, the prime minister did not go to Kyiv.

“We are looking at another date to be held in the coming days for the meetings you are asking about. When the deadline comes I will let you know immediately”, – said Fizo.
