A memorial plaque was opened in Kharkiv in honor of the fallen surgeon – Hero of Ukraine Vladyslav Tytarenko

On September 13, a memorial board appeared on the wall of the 25th Kharkiv City Hospital, honoring the memory of the outstanding surgeon and true Hero of Ukraine — Vladyslav Tytarenko. This event became a symbol of boundless respect for a person who gave his life for the sake of others. The opening ceremony was attended by relatives, colleagues, patients – those who had the honor of knowing him personally. For all of them, Vladyslav was not just a doctor, but a person who lived for the sake of saving lives, giving hope where it seemed there was no more.

The tragic events of August 5, 2023 forever changed the lives of many. A Russian aerial bomb destroyed a blood transfusion center in Kupyansk, taking four lives. Among the dead was Vladyslav Tytarenko, a talented surgeon, commander of the advanced surgical group, who saved the lives of wounded soldiers and civilians day and night. His dedication to the cause knew no bounds, he lived in a hospital ward to be near those who needed his help.

Colleagues and patients called him a “surgeon from God.” His skill and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of the patients he brought back to life. Every operation Vladyslav performed was a fight for his life, and he was someone who always went to the end, never giving up even when the chances were slim.

When a full-scale war began, Vladyslav received a summons. As a medic, he was trained in a military hospital and was ready to do his duty where he was most needed. He was on the front lines, saving lives in the hottest spots, remaining the same selfless doctor he was known as in civilian life.

For his heroism, Vladyslav Tytarenko posthumously received the highest awards. On February 24, 2024, he was awarded the title “Hero of Ukraine” by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, and his name will forever remain in the history of our country. The Kharkiv Regional Council also awarded him the Badge of Honor “For services to the Kharkiv Region”.

“No award will replace my son. But I understand how important this award is for those boys and girls who are currently working in hospitals, in stabilization centers. I understand how important it is for my youngest son – he is 16 years old. These awards, this recognition is important for doctors. Doctors are people who never intended to fight. All hospital doctors are heroes.” – said

Today’s event is not just the unveiling of a memorial plaque. This is a memory that lives in the hearts of everyone who knew Vladyslav. It is a symbol of dedication to one’s profession, a symbol of true humanity and courage. He will forever remain an example for all doctors and those who are not afraid to go to the front to protect and save lives.
